QUETTA: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has killed three suspected militants during an intelligence-based operation in Mastung area of Balochistan.

A CTD spokesman stated on Saturday that based on intelligence information, CTD personnel conducted a search operation in the Kanak area of Mastung district, during which the armed men opened fire on CTD officials and attempted to escape.

However, CTD personnel cordoned off the area, returned fire, and engaged in a heavy exchange for over an hour, resulting in the death of three alleged militants.

A large quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from the possession of the armed men.

The spokesman claimed that the militants killed in the exchange of fire belonged to a banned outfit and were involved in attacks on security forces and targeting civilians.
