Paediatric intensive care Doctor Tanya Haj Hassan of Doctors Without Borders has said that she is at a loss for words over the “humanitarian catastrophe” unfolding in Gaza, Al Jazeera reports.
“It’s been weeks that we have been warning of a humanitarian catastrophe, and every day our calls get more and more desperate,” she said. “What is this world that we are living in?”
According to her, thousands of people are arriving at hospitals in “very critical condition”.
“I plead to the international community. I plead to the international medical community who’s listening to this. Please stand up,” she added.
