LAHORE: The Punjab government has exempted call centres and international IT centres from the smog-related smart lockdown.

The revised notification says the areas exempted from the smog-related smart lockdown are: pharmacies, medical stores, medical facilities and vaccination centres, petrol pumps, oil depots, tandoors, bakeries, grocery, karyana stores, milk and dairy shops, sweet shops, vegetable, fruit shops, chicken and meat shops, e-commerce, postal, courier services and utility services (electricity, natural gas, internet, cellular networks, telecom, international IT centres and call centres.

However, the government has directed closure of take-away facility alongside dining from restaurants but allowed the restaurants to offer home delivery of food items.
