The Government Media Office in Gaza has released a statement on the situation in Gaza, according to Al Jazeera.

It said hospitals receive one wounded person every minute and 15 bodies every hour while six children and five women are killed every hour on average.

Almost 70 per cent of Gaza’s population has been forcibly displaced from their homes due to Israeli bombing and raids, it said, adding that around 30,000 tonnes of explosives used by Israel in the bombing — an average of 82 tonnes per square kilometre.

Half of the hospitals and 62pc of primary care health centres are effectively out of service. Meanwhile, 50pc of housing units damaged by bombing and raids, 10 percent have become uninhabitable.

One-third of schools damaged by the bombing and about 9pc are out of service.
