Singapore’s government has warned that anyone who displays or wears emblems linked to the Israel-Palestine situation could be jailed, saying the conflict was an “emotive issue” that could disrupt national peace, Al Jazeera reports.
In a statement, the Ministry of Home Affairs said the laws prohibited the display or wearing of foreign national emblems, including flags and banners of any state.
A report in The Straits Times said those convicted could face up to six months in prison or fined up to 500 Singapore dollars ($370) or both. It added that travellers wearing prohibited items could even be denied entry into Singapore.
