State media in Iran says the Iranian president and Indian prime minister have held a phone conversation during which Raisi said “supports any joint global effort for an immediate ceasefire, lifting the blockade and providing relief to the oppressed people of Gaza”, Al Jazeera reports.

According to IRNA, Iran’s Raisi said “atrocities in Gaza made people around the globe angry and if the massacre continues, it will have transregional consequences”.

Raisi also said that “Palestinian resistance groups have a legitimate right to confront the occupation” and accused the US of being complicit in the “crimes” committed in Gaza due to its financial, militarily and intelligence support to Israel.
