KARACHI: A digital app was introduced on Saturday as a pilot project for the Sindh police to curb the role of clerks in the police record, officials said.

The South Zone police introduced the app, e-Sheets, to view and manage online record of policemen from constable to inspector level.

“This mobile app envisions paperless system without interference of office clerks or ‘babus’ that are prone to pester the staff,” said South-DIG Syed Asad Raza.

He added that “this system aims to bring transparency and fairness in service record management which has ailed the Police department for long.’’

He said that the app would help improve the system of promotions, leaves, availability of funds, medical assistance, rewards and punishments.

“South zone police leads Sindh police by holding first online Orderly Room through the IGP’s new initiative, e-Sheets,’’ he added.

The mobile app is connected online with Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) of Sindh Police.

The DIG also held an online Orderly Room in which a large number of police personnel participated.
