Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UN, Munir Akram, has said: “We cannot mince our words; we have to tell the Israelis: stop the genocide.”

He made these remarks during a UN briefing on the ‘Humanitarian Situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory’, APP reports.

In his remarks, he said that the Israelis, having suffered the Holocaust, are now committing a “modern genocide” against the Palestinians, and “we must call it for what it is”.

He called for respecting and adhering to international humanitarian law that forbids attacks on civilians and civilian objects.

The envoy said the deadly Israeli strikes against schools, hospitals and civilian sites in Gaza on the pretext of military targets are a gross violation of international law and norms as well as a “collective punishment” of a helpless people.
