Wapda rout Bankers

RAWALPINDI, Feb 13: Jahangir Mirza and Aamir Sajjad stroked half-centuries on Monday as defending champions Wapda scored a crushing 112-run victory over National Bank in the Patron’s Cup Group ‘B’ match at the KRL Stadium.

Put in to bat first, Wapda piled up 327 for six and then bowled out the bankers for 215 in 41.4 overs with Jahangir taking 3-15 to round off a fine day’s work.

Earlier, Jahangir struck 85 as he belted six fours and two sixes while Aamir scored 70. Also making useful contributions were Ali Azmat (46) and Bilal Khilji (44).

Mohammad Sami took 2-70 in his 10 overs and Wasim Khan captured 2-52.

Shahid Yousuf (47) was the top scorer for the bankers and hit three fours and a six.
