NAWABSHAH: The district and sessions court of Shaheed Benazirabad on Wednesday ordered removal of sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATC) from the FIR lodged against workers of the Sindh Taraqqi-pasand Party (STP).

Nawabshah police produced STP workers, including taluka president Shahnawaz Keerio, Budhal Magsi, Ali Nawaz Katiyar, Saleem Magsi, Moula Bux Keerio, Ghulam Hussain Wasan, Shahzad Bhatti, Wali Mohammed Unnar, Saleem Rehmani, Abid Bhatti and Asif Ujjan in the Anti-Terrorism Court where the judge was on leave. Then they were taken to the court of the district & sessions judge Shaheed Benazirabad.

The judge Allah Bachayo Gabol removed the ATA sections from the FIR and transferred the case to the judge concerned.

Meanwhile, Shaheed Benazirabad SSP Haider Raza wrote a letter to the Shaheed Benazirabad DIG, asking for appointing a competent and honest officer, on the request of STP chairman Dr Qadir Magsi, to conduct a fair probe into the alleged highhandedness of the SHO and other officers of B-Section police station in the context of the registration of FIR No 270/23 under sections 324, 353 PPC (against Salman Kee-rio, brother of STP information secretary Nisar Keerio.)

STP workers took out rallies and staged protests in Kandhkot and Jacob-abad against Nawabshah. Similar protests were held in Dadu, Johi, Mehar and KN Shah and Kotri towns against police.
