MIRAMSHAH, Feb 12: Two women were killed and five others injured when rockets fired from across the border hit the shelter of a nomad family in North Waziristan on Saturday night, officials said.

The injured included a woman and four minor children who were taken to a local hospital.

Witnesses said that allied troops fired rockets from Shinki checkpost in Afghanistan’s Khost province after one of their posts had been targeted with mortar shells.

The rockets fired by allied forces hit the shelter in Sulemankhel area of tehsil Spinwaam. An official in the area said that four rockets had landed on the area.
