KARACHI: The National Academy of Performing Arts (Napa) has re-elected Syed Jawaid Iqbal as its chairman and other members of the board of directors (BoD) for another term of three years.

Outgoing members who were re-elected in the 19th annual general meeting include Tariq Kirmani, former Senator Javed Jabbar, Anwar Rammal, Mahtab Akbar Rashdi, Shahrukh Hasan, Satish Anand, Fawzia Naqvi, former Senator Roshan Khursheed Bharucha and Salima Hashmi.

The board also approved the appointment of Rukhshanda Naz, the ombudsperson for harassment against women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as a member of the board.

The federal secretaries of the finance, national heritage and culture divisions, Sindh culture, tourism, antiquities and archives secretary and Napa chief executive officer are the ex-officio members of the BoD.
