LAHORE, Feb 11: Sale of 1.5 million flour bags under the Chief Minister’s Sasta Atta Scheme will begin in Punjab from Feb 15 and will continue for two months.

The Punjab government will provide a subsidy of Rs28 for every 10kg flour bag under the scheme. The bag will be sold for Rs100 to the deserving people.

This was stated at a meeting held here on Saturday to discuss the arrangements for the sale of subsidized flour in the city. DCO Mian Ijaz presided.

The DCO directed DO (revenue) Malik Muhammad Bakhsh to make arrangements for the sale of flour in the presence of councillors at the union council level. Shopkeepers, bakers (tandoor) and restaurant owners should not be allowed to purchase the flour.

He directed DDO (revenue) Mudassar Waheed to make arrangements for the announcement about the sale of flour in the mosques of the areas where it was proposed to be sold. Complete record of the sale should also be maintained.
