ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy cruised past Khyber Pakhtunkhwa-B to move into the quarter-finals of the National Hockey Championship at the retired Lt Ishfaq Nadeem Ahmed Hockey Stadium in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.

Osman Ali scored two goals as Navy hammered KP-B 8-0. Hamad Ali, Rana Waleed, Ali Sher, Zulq­arnain Basharat and Akbar Ali were also on target.

Mari Petroleum registered the biggest win of the tournament after they crushed Balochistan 16-0 with Naveed Alam and Ramaiz Suroor netting four goals each.

Earlier, KP-A secured an impressive 6-3 victory over Islamabad. Saifullah got a hat-trick for the victors while Samiullah, Khurshid and Zakir recorded one goal apiece.

In Wednesday’s other fixtures, Javed’s three-goal tally inspired Sindh-B to a thumping 9-0 win over Azad Jammu and Kashmir while the last match of the day saw Rangers defeating Port Qasim 3-1.
