PESHAWAR, Feb 10: The Peshawar High Court on Friday sought comments from the provincial government in a petition filed by Mardan District Nazim Himayatullah Mayar challenging the alleged interference of the government in the affairs of his district.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Dost Mohammad Khan and Justice Mohammad Raza Khan gave the government two weeks to file the comments.

The court also put the government on notice in an application filed by the petitioner seeking suspension of some impugned orders of the government till disposal of his petition.

The bench asked the concerned court to fix an early date for hearing the application.

The petitioner has challenged the orders of the provincial government through which two female officials of the education department have been transferred. The nazim said that transfer and posting of officials in grade 17 and above should be carried out with his consultation.—Bureau Report
