ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has requested Bahrain to appoint a representative for coordination with the Board of Investment (BoI) to explore investment opportunities and resolve the issues that Bahraini companies are facing in Pakistan.

Minister of State for Investment Tahir Javed made this request to Ambassador of Bahrain Mohammed Ebraheem Mohammed during a meeting here on Friday.

The ambassador of Bahrain informed the minister of state that the Gulf nation would propose some names in the coming week to the BoI. The two sides also agreed to arrange a meeting with Bahraini investors at the BoI for exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan.

Mr Javed requested the Bahraini ambassador to set aside a permanent space at Bahraini expo centres for Pakistani carpets, antiques and furniture.The Bahraini ambassador invited Pakistani investors to Bahrain to explore investment opportunities.
