PESHAWAR: A new building was inaugurated at the Khyber College of Dentistry (KCD) on Tuesday to cater to the load of patients and facilitate the students pursuing their under and postgraduate studies.

College dean Prof Syed Nasir Shah informed the participants of the inaugural ceremony that the new building would double the patient catering capacity at the province’s oldest dental college, a press release issued here said.

He said the building had seven floors, including a basement. “The basement has a daycare centre, a library, a mosque, a store, two lecture theatres, offices and dental laboratories.”

Mr Shah said the building had department of prosthodontics and three clinical departments with 90 dental chairs. “It has also basic sciences block,” he added. Additionally, Prof Shah said there was a multi-purpose hall having the facility of a skill lab, dental education, a centre for practical examination and a separate purpose-built examination and conference hall.
