KOHAT: Fourteen persons were injured, three of them critically, when a passenger coach veered off a hilly road in Storikhel village of Orakzai tribal district after its brakes failed on Friday.

The accident occurred in the jurisdiction of Kurez police station. The vehicle was going to Kacha Pakha area from Andkhel village.

The injured were taken to the KDA Teaching Hospital here, where condition of three was critical.

ARRESTED: The Kohat police on Friday arrested two motorcycle lifters, two drug peddlers and five others during the search and strike operations on Friday.

SHO city police station Vaqar Khan along with his team conducted a raid on a house in Bhora Garhi area, arrested one Abid and seized a stolen motorcycle from him. He had stolen the two-wheeler from Khocha Qasaban area.

Separately, cantonment police arrested a man, Danish, belonging to Shahpur area at the Bannu Road railway crossing and seized a stolen motorcycle from him.

Similarly, the police arrested a man identified as Abdullah of Mir Bashkhel and recovered a small machine gun and cartridges from him.

Also, a team led by Jarma SHO Fazal Mohammad arrested four accused along with two 12-bore repeaters, two pistols, and a large number of cartridges.

The Bilitang police led by SHO Roman Khan arrested two drug peddlers during actions in Dhoda and Kharmatu areas and seized ice drug from them.
