LAHORE: A woman has been allegedly subjected to torture by her husband and mother-in-law in the Nawab Town area in the name of honour.

Asia’s family alleged that her in-laws used to torture her in the past also over petty domestic issues. They said Asia’s husband was a notorious man and he tortured her inhumanly in the name of honour.

Asia told police that she was the mother of four children. Some two weeks back, she went to her parents’ home in Vehari and at this, Jandoda beat up her with clubs and iron rods.

Some days back, he came to her parents home and said he would not commit domestic violence in the future. As she came back to her in-laws’ home, her husband and mother-in-law locked her in the room, tied her arms and legs with a rope and subjected to her torture. They burnt her private parts as well as other parts of the body by using an electric water heating rod.

Asia was hospitalised in critical condition with deep critical burns and police lodged a case against her husband and in-laws.

The police high-ups took notice of the incident when the video clips of the burnt body of the woman reached them.
