QUETTA, Feb 6: The Balochistan government has announced a compensation of Rs100,000 each for the heirs of each dead and Rs50,000 for each of the people injured in the Kolpur bus blast on Sunday.
Provincial Finance Minister Syed Ehsan Shah announced this during a visit to the Civil Hospital Quetta to inquire after the health of the injured.
The minister sympathised with the victims and condemned the perpetrators of the brutal act. He said that the government would use all means to punish the culprits.
Provincial ministers Abdul Rehman Jamali and Mohammad Asim Kurd also visited the hospital. They met the injured people and assured them that the government would provide all medical facilities to them.
They directed doctors and staff of the hospital to provide the best possible treatment to the injured.
The ministers strongly condemned the bomb blast and said criminal elements were targeting innocent people.
“The elements involved in this brutal act do not believe in ethnic tradition and give no importance to human lives,” Jamali said.
The ministers said the government was capable of protecting the life and property of the people.
CONDEMNATION: Leader of the Opposition in the Balochistan Assembly Kachkol Ali expressed dismay over the bus explosion.
Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani, a central leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party, said he was against all acts of terrorism. He blamed the federal government for the problems in Balochistan. Senator Sanaullah Baloch, central secretary of the Balochistan National Party (BNP), also condemned the blast and said no one could support and encourage the killing of the poor and innocent civilians.
He blamed the wrong polices of the government for such incidents. The BNP leader said Quetta was flooded with Taliban and outsiders had occupied government land worth Rs6 billion, which showed that the government had failed to provide protection to the people.
