PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has proposed a commission with members from Pakistan and Afghanistan for resolving the issues between the neighbouring countries.

“Pakistan and Afghanistan can move towards solving their problems by forming a joint commission. Our party is ready to play its role in this regard,” the JUI-F chief said while addressing the party’s provincial council here on Sunday.

A statement issued by JUI-F’s media wing said the party chief also raised questions on the prevailing law and order situation following an attack on a JUI-F convention in Bajaur and a recent attack on the party leader Hafiz Hamdullah in Balochistan.

He alleged former prime minister Imran Khan had pushed the country into an economic crisis under a global agenda. He also claimed that the hike in prices of petroleum products was being made as per the agreements signed by former prime minister Imran Khan with the International Monetary Fund.

He insisted Imran was ‘selected’ to wipe out Islamic culture and attempts were made to lead the country towards secularism. He added attempts were made to recognise Israel and to expunge the article in the Constitution concerning the finality of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
