SWABI: The anti-corruption establishment (ACE) and police officials raided the residence of Shahram Khan Tarakai, former provincial education minister and leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, here on Friday afternoon.

Ramazan Chaudhry, the Tarkai House spokesman, recalled that it was the third raid by the officials of two departments on the residence of Shahram.

However, like previous occasions, they returned empty-handed once again, he added.

He said the raiding officials searched the house, but didn’t find any male member there.

Mr Shahram is wanted to the ACE in an ‘illegal’ appointment case in the education department.

To a query, he said it was not clear whether Mr Shahram and other members of his family had gone abroad or were still in the country. “I always speak to them on WhatsApp,” he remarked.

VISIT: Awami National Party provincial president Aimal Wali Khan is scheduled to visit the district on Wednesday to meet those having quit different political parties and joined the ANP, said Ghulam Haqqani, the Razaar tehsil chairman, on Friday.

He said the party would intensify mass contact campaign if a date for the election was announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
