QUETTA: Four individuals, including the chairman of the municipal committee of Zhob and his brother, were killed in a road accident near Qila Saifullah, while 20 other people were injured when a passenger coach collided with a truck on the Zhob-Dera Ismail Khan Highway on Sunday.

Officials said that Sardar Khan Nasar, chief of Nasar tribe and chairman of Zhob municipal committee, was on his way to Zhob after offering offering condolences over a friend’s death in Loralai when the fatal accident occurred.

A truck coming from the opposite direction hit the tribal chief’s car on the Loralai-Zhob Highway, resulting in the deaths of all four individuals travelling in the car.

Levies personnel shifted the bodies to the government-run district hospital in Zhob.

Three other victims of the tragic incident were identified as Sardarzada Attaullah Nasar, Malik Muhammad Khan Nasar, and Haji Zafarullah Khan Nasar.

Meanwhile, in another accident on the Zhob-Dera Ismail Khan Highway, 20 people, including women and children, were injured.

Levies officials stated that a passenger coach bound for Peshawar from Quetta collided with a truck loaded with onions on the highway in the Sirakhawar area of Darazinda in the Zhob district.

“The driver lost control of the coach due to brake failure and hit the loaded truck,” a senior Levies official said, adding that the injured were immediately shifted to Zhob Hospital.

“We have received 20 injured, including four women, eight children and eight others,” hospital officials said.
