BAHAWALPUR, Feb 5: A case of alleged sabotage that caused the derailment of Lahore-bound Karakoram Express on Saturday has been registered by Musafirkhana police.

The complainant is railways divisional superintendent, Multan.

Meanwhile, railway sources here said that traffic on the up track between Samasatta and Kalanchwala had been restored 12 hours after the Karakoram derailment.

Express trains affected by the derailment were running behind schedule.

INQUIRY: Probe into the causes of the derailment will be completed within 10 days by the federal government inspector of railways.

The FGIR who will begin proceedings from Samasatta on Monday, has asked passengers and other people having information about the derailment to record their evidence.

On Tuesday, he will move to Multan where he will hold further proceedings in the office of the divisional superintendent.
