SANGHAR, Feb 5: Hur devotees celebrated 54 years of coronation of Shah Mardan Shah as Pir Pagara. Thousands of Hurs and sympathizers, including ministers and MPAs, gathered at the Gurang bungalow on Saturday night.

It may be mentioned that the Gurang bungalow was bombarded by the Royal Air Force in 1943 during the Hur movement.

Provincial law minister Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmed, MPA Dr Bhagchand, Pir Bux Junejo, PML-F leader Kashif Nizamani, taluka nazims and others spoke on the occasion.

They paid tribute to the Pir Pagara for supporting construction of Kalabagh dam and reopening of the Khokhrapar-Monabao rail service.

Chaudhry Iftikhar said the Pir had always defended Pakistan’s ideology and borders.

Pir Bux Junejo said the Pir was a kingmaker and no one could become a chief minister of Sindh without his support.
