ISLAMABAD: The government on Monday launched a sub-national food system dashboard aimed at addressing the food security challenges and to transform the country’s food system

The inauguration ceremony of the dashboard was hosted by Ministry of National Food Security in collaboration with Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) and the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), says a press release.

The sub-national food systems dashboard has been launched on the pattern of the global food systems dashboard through collaborative efforts among GAIN, Johns Hopkins University and the Columbia Climate School at Columbia University.

Speaking at the ceremony, Federal Secretary for Ministry of National Food Security retired Captain Muhammad Mahmood highlighted the importance of authentic data in order to formulate public polices and the programmes. PARC Chairman Dr Ghulam Muhammad Ali appreciated the efforts of all the stakeholders and development partners in his welcome speech.

GAIN Director Farah Naz ensured support for future policy review and formulation.
