NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Relatives of two missing brothers of Mir Ali subdivision of North Waziristan district have sought the government’s help in their safe recovery.
A resident of Mosaki area, Awais Dawar, alleged that on the evening of Aug 20 some security personnel took away his two brothers named Mohammad Rehan (aged 20) and Mohammad Zikriya (aged 17) stating that they were required for some investigation.
Since then, he told Dawn, their whereabouts were not known.
Mr Dawar, who is himself MPhil scholar in Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi, said that they had been searching for them but in vain.
He said that Mohammad Rehan was a student of Food Science Department, Bahauddin Zikriya University, Multan, whereas Mohammad Zikriya was a student of Arid University Rawalpindi.
Appealing for the recovery of his brothers, he said no member of their family had anything to do with any kind of political or negative activities and both the young men were very polite and law abiding citizens.
A resident of the area, on the condition of anonymity, said that on the Aug 20, security forces came under a sniper attack in Mosaki, after which they conducted a search operation in the area.
He said the security forces had also searched the house of the arrested brothers while their father Ismatullah Dawar also fully cooperated with the security forces during the search operation.
It is noteworthy that on Aug 25, some women had also protested outside the Mir Ali camp for the release of the two brothers.
