GCU crush NCA

LAHORE, Feb 3: LUMS, FAST, Government College, University (GCU) and UMT have booked their places in the semifinals of the LUMS Football Challenge on Friday.

GCU beat NCA 3-0. Rashid scored the first goal in the 10th minute.

Shoaib Afridi doubled the lead in the 50th minute and Nasir completed the rout in the 60th minute.

LUMS edged out NUST 2-1 as both the teams were playing under must-win situation.

LUMS drew first blood when Khattak scored a goal off a fine pass from Ghazan in the 15th minute.

An own goal by Navid doubled LUMS lead.

Hafeez grabbed NUST’s consolation goal in the 65th minute.

FAST earned 2-1 win against UET Taxila.

After a goalless first half, UET Taxila struck the first blow when Mehdi headed the ball home in the 62nd minute.

FAST equalized through Rahim eight minutes later before Aziz struck the winner in the 75th minute.

UMT carved out 2-0 win against IBM Karachi. Abdullah put the winners 1-0 ahead in the 30th and Habib made the game secure with his strike in the 50th minute.
