KHAIRPUR, Feb 1: Scores of municipal employees including sanitation staff of Pir Jo Goth, taluka Kingri, continued their protest on second consecutive day on Friday against non-payment of their salaries.
Their representatives told newsmen that they were working under Kingri taluka council for the last two months but had not been paid salaries.
They added that salaries of nine months were outstanding against the defunct municipality committee.
The protesters wore black arm bands and threatened to continue their protest till their salaries are paid.
There are heaps of garbage in the town and sewage has submerged the streets and bazaars of Pir jo Goth.
ACCIDENT: Five persons were seriously injured when a Suzuki pickup overturned near Kandhra on Friday.
The injured included Janib Jagirani, Shahid Hussain Maitlo, Mohammad Akhtar Choudhri, Kishan Chand and Kamson Bagri.
WOMAN KILLED: A women, Zarina, 25, was killed here on Thursday night in village Kazko, taluka Kot Diji.
Kot Diji police have taken three persons including the husband of the deceased into custody. They were identified as Muneer, Karar and Sher Mohammad.
Meanwhile, police have arrested Ahsan Ahmed Almani in the suicide case of his wife.
