Former UC chairman shot dead

KASUR:A former union council chairman was shot dead allegedly by his rivals in the limits of Ganda Singh police on Friday.

The police recovered the body of Aftab Dogar near Burg village and shifted it to the DHQ Hospital.

Meanwhile, Saddar police recovered the body of an unidentified man near Steel Bagh Mor and shifted it the DHQ Hospital.

ACCIDENTS: A woman and two children were killed in two road accidents here on Friday.

In the first incident, Parvez of Okara, his wife Sakina Bibi, their two-year-old son Shan and four-month-old daughter Tasleem were on way home when a bus hit their rickshaw near Pattoki Sugar Mills. Sakina Bibi and her daughter killed on the spot, while others, including driver Jamil, suffered injuries.

In the second incident, a truck crushed seven-year-old Majid to death when he was crossing a road near Kutchery Chowk.

BOOKED: Allahabad police booked a man for assaulting a six-year-old child at village Gahlan Plot.

The accused took the child to his outhouse on a pretext of giving him Rs100 where he assaulted him.

The police have arrested the accused and registered a case against him.
