BAJAUR: Five Frontier Corps personnel and a civilian received minor injuries when an FC vehicle was targeted by a suicide bomber in Larkholozo area of Mamond tehsil here on Wednesday afternoon, the police said.

They said a suicide bomber blew himself up near the FC vehicle near Larkholozo Hospital on Inayat Kallay-Laghari Road.

The police said five FC personnel and a passerby received minor injuries in the blast that partially damaged the vehicle.

They identified the injured FC personnel as Hazrat Ali, Nasir, Abdullah, Zar Hakim and Dil Mohammad.

District police officer Nazeer Khan, while confirming the incident, said a contingent of police immediately reached the area and cordoned off the site of the explosion. He said the police launched a search operation in the surrounding areas to trace the handlers of the suicide bomber.

No one claimed responsibly for the explosion, which occurred days after the July 30 suicide blast at a JUI-convention in Khar that left 64 people dead and 122 others wounded.
