DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Three people were killed when unknown attackers opened fire on them on Station Road in Tank district, police said on Wednesday.

An official said a tractor mechanic, Abdul Qayyum Bitanni, and his two assistants, Attaur Rahman and Balqiyas were having meal at their workshop when unknown attackers opened fire on them, killing them on the spot.

The police and a Rescue 1122 team shifted the bodies to hospital.

The police registered a case against unknown persons and started investigation.

Meanwhile, the Dera police seized non-custom paid items worth millions of rupees on Wednesday.

An official said a team of Mughalkot police station led by sub-divisional police officer, Darazinda, Inamullah Khan Gandapur and SHO Din Mohammad stopped a vehicle coming from Zhob district of Balochistan for checking, and recovered different NCP items from it. Similarly, different NCP items were recovered from a truck. Later, the police handed over all the recovered items to the customs authorities.
