SUKKUR, Feb 1: Industrialists and traders of Sukkur have urged the Sindh government to formulate an industrial policy on the pattern of the NWFP, to boost industrialization in the province and overcome unemployment.

The plea was made at a meeting of industrialists and traders, held in Sukkur on Wednesday.

It was attended by over 150 industrialists and traders from the entire province. The meeting reviewed the poor condition of the industrial estates in Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, Larkana, Ghotki, Jacobabad and Nawabshah, where hundreds of plots were lying unutilized and the industrialists, who had to establish industries there, were sustaining losses, due to lack of facilities and the government was not paying any heed towards it.

The meeting observed that preference was being given only to Karachi trade and industry, while there was great potential in the interior of Sindh for industrialization.
