KARACHI, Feb 1: The Sindh High Court on Wednesday disposed of petitions of Karachi Stock Exchange and others against Security Exchange Commission of Pakistan’s notification on Dec 28 regarding regulations of constitution of governing body of KSE on request of petitioners.

Munir Mohammad Ladha and Zafar Siddiq Moti filed applications before the court, singed by petitioners and respondents, submitting that the KSE agreed to convene extraordinary general meeting for passing a special resolution to amend its article of association for election of chairman from non-members directors.

The court was prayed to dispose of the petition.

SHC’s division bench, comprising Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and Justice Mohammad Athar Saeed, granting applications disposed of the petitions.

Notices issued: Notices were issued here on Wednesday to respondents in a constitutional petition filed by Ms Neelofar, wife of alleged notorious drug peddler Haji Laloo.

The petitioner said that property, a house in Jahanabad was in her name. When she returned to home in October 2005, she found the premises sealed and a police picket was established there.

Upon inquiry, the petitioner was told that the house was sealed on lawful orders of the competent authority, submitted her counsel, adding since then the petitioner had been living with her relatives, having no place of her own to live in.

The bench, after hearing the initial arguments, issued notices to respondents, including Sindh home secretary, provincial police officer and SHO of Pak Colony for a date to be fixed later by the office of the court.—PPI/APP
