Recruitment criteria

THE Sindh government recently conducted test for the recruitment of BPS 5 to 15 through Sukkur IBA (SIBA) Testing Service for intermediate and graduation categories. Unemployed youth from Karachi to Kashmore appeared in large numbers, and thousands of them qualified the tests, and looked forward to getting job purely on merit.

The government had also disclosed the recruitment criterion, comprising test score, qualification, and interview. The testing service has ensured merit by conducting the test professionally, but who will ensure it during the interview process?

Are the departments of Sindh really trustworthy? The provincial government has not declared any policy for the interview panel and if the interview will be conducted by the departments concerned, the merit of the interview will definitely be doubted. People are already raising questions regarding the transparency of the interview process.

The government should hold interviews in a transparent manner and the panel must include good, reputed committee members, including some from the judiciary. The unemployed youth should not be left disappointed this time.
