ISLAMABAD: Just a day after expelling 22 leaders, the PTI on Wednesday expelled 13 more party members including Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Raja Riaz and Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman Noor Alam Khan for violating party discipline.

It also issued a show-cause notice to Malik Shaukat Ali, former MPA of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, asking him to explain his position within two days for attending a meeting of a newly-formed political party.

PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan issued the termination notices to the party’s leaders and directed them to refrain from using the party name and designation in any manner whatsoever or a legal action would be taken against them.

The leaders whose basic membership was terminated were: Raja Riaz, Noor Alam Khan, Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Nuzhat Pathan, Wajiha Qamar, Sardar Riaz Mehmood Mazari, Qasim Noon, Nawab Sher, Makhdoomzada Basit Sultan, Afzal Dhandla, Abdul Ghaffar Wattoo, Aamir Talal Gopang and Ahmad Deharr.

They were served with show cause notices, but failed to provide a satisfactory reply within the stipulated time and, therefore, they were expelled from the party.

Similarly, Malik Shaukat Ali was served with a notice to explain attending a meeting of the newly-formed party.
