RAWALPINDI: The Airport Security Force (ASF) foiled an attempt to smuggle 10 kilograms of ice heroin to Qatar and detained a Sri Lankan national at the Islamabad International Airport, sources told Dawn.

The seizure was made when the security check of passengers for a Doha-bound flight was in progress.

During scanning of passengers’ luggage, the ASF staff spotted a bag that aroused their suspicion. They decided to search it.

The search revealed that 10.294 kg of ice heroin was hidden in the bag. The passenger, a Sri Lankan national, was detained.

The suspect was identified as R.C.P. He was handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force for legal proceedings.
