Tannery workers strike

Published February 1, 2006

KASUR, Jan 31: Hundreds of tannery workers went on strike in Niaz Nagar here on Tuesday. Reports said more than 400 workers announced that they would observe strike for an indefinite period against tannery owners for low wages, overwork and absence of any medical or financial aid in case of any emergency.

Meanwhile, tannery owners’ talks with union leaders failed to resolve the matter.

The city PPP has also supported tannery workers.
