NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Jan 31: Provincial and district leaders of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F have issued a "Fatwa" here on Tuesday against construction of Kalabagh, Bhasha and other dams on the Indus River.

Maulana Mohammad Idris Soomro, provincial nazim of JUI-F, presided over the district convention at the Piran Wari Masjid which was attended by a large number of Ulema from Kandiaro, Mehrabpur, Mithiani, Padidan, Bhirya Road, Moro and Naushahro Feroze.

After convention, JUI-F leaders reached the press club and launched membership campaign of the party.

They issued a "Fatwa" in which it was stated that construction of the Bhasha Dam was against Islam and is "Haram" while it was more dangerous than the Kalabagh dam.

They said on Jan 1 they had released a "Fatwa" against construction of the Kalabagh dam.
