PESHAWAR, Feb 1: A seven-member US military delegation visited Pakistan-Afghanistan border at Torkham on Friday.

The US delegation led by General Edwards, who is also deputy commander of the Coalition Forces Coordination Committee, visited Mitchni checkpost, Khyber Agency.

Commandant Khyber Rifles, Col Taqdees Ahmad Lodhi, briefed the delegation about the geo-strategic situation and historical background of the area. The team was informed about the measures taken by the Pakistan army to prevent the entry of wanted people from Afghanistan.

Pakistan recently deployed its troops along the border with Afghanistan to stop the infiltration of Al Qaeda suspects from Tora Bora caves.—Bureau
