QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Wednesday declared the appointment of all coordinators and spokespersons made by Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo illegal.

The decision came on a constitutional petition filed by senior lawyer Sadiq Khilji, challenging the appointments.

A division bench of the BHC comprising Chief Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Aamir Nawaz Rana heard the arguments and subsequently reserved the verdict, which was later announced.

The court’s ruling deems the appointment of the 26 male and female coordinators, affiliated with various political parties and individuals, as well as the appointment of two spokespersons, Farah Azim Shah and Babar Yousafzai, illegal.

As per the court directive, the Secretary Services and General Administration (S&GAD) is ordered to immediately halt the working of all coordinators and spokespersons. Additionally, all staff and government facilities extended to these coordinators and spokespersons are to be withdrawn. The relevant authorities are required to submit a written report on the implementation of the order to the court.
