Pride of Performance trophy for PSA

ISLAMABAD, Jan 30: The Punjab Squash Association (PSA) was on Monday awarded the Pride of Performance Trophy at the Annual General Meeting of the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF).

Based mainly on tournaments conducted and training camps organized, Punjab had 76 points and thereby qualified to take the trophy. NWFP were second with 66 points.

The meeting which was chaired by PSF president Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat also conducted elections for two posts of vice presidents.

Qamar Zaman was re-elected for a fifth term of three years with Adnan Asad coming in as the other vice president after Mansoor Khan said he was unable to continue for a second term.

The performance of players and coaches was reviewed. The house also offered fateha for squash legend Roshan Khan.

Meanwhile to select a pair for competing in the Commonmwealth Games doubles event, trials are underway at the Mushaf Squash Complex.

Pakistan will also compete in the men’s singles at the March 15- 26 Games in Melbourne.

The pairs going through trials are: Yasir Butt-Basit Ashfaq, Amir Atlas-Khayal Mohammad, Amjad Khan-Safeerullah Khan, Arshad Iqbal Burki-Majid Khan and Farhan Mahboob-Farrukh Zaman.

The trials will conclude on Wednesday.
