LAHORE, Jan 30: The Social Security Doctors Association (SSDA), Lahore has decided to observe strike on Wednesday (tomorrow) against the ‘indifference’ shown by the social security hospital administration in taking action against ‘hooligans.’
In a meeting here on Monday, the SSDA strongly resented a move of shifting the responsibility of a patient’s death on doctors and the auxiliary staff. SSDA secretary-general Dr Safdar Baloch said the inquiry report had already revealed that the patient had died in normal medical circumstances and not due to the negligence of doctors or the auxiliary staff.
He said the action by the patient’s relatives to get an FIR registered against doctors as well as the indifference shown by the hospital administration were unacceptable for social security doctors. The meeting demanded that the social security commissioner should get the FIR quashed, provide protection to the hospital staff and check the hooligans. The meeting also decided to hold meetings with the commissioner and the labour minister to apprise them about the facts of the incident.
