PVF elections held

LAHORE: Chaudhry Mohammad Yaqoob and Shah Naeem Zafar were retained as chairman and secretary of the Pakistan Volleyball Federation in the elections which were held during the PVF general council meeting here on Thursday.

Sohail Khawar Mir was elected as president while Khalid Waqar as treasurer for the 2023-2027 tenure.

Sohail after the election announced a cash award of Rs1 million for Pakistan’s U-16 team for their outstanding performance in the recently-held CAVA Volleyball Championship in Tashkent where the team went down fighting 3-2 in the final against Iran on Wednesday.

The PVF, soon after the Tashkent decider, had already announced a cash prize of Rs1.5 million for the U-16 team.

Furthermore, Irfan Nawaz, the PVF vice-president, announced an additional cash award of Rs100,000 for the U-16 team.
