KALLANG (Singapore): Pakistan national women’s football team fell to a 1-0 loss to Singapore in their international friendly here at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Tuesday.

Having kept out waves of attacks from the hosts, Pakistan eventually conceded in the 81st minute with debutant Farah Nurzahirah scoring with a sweetly-timed volley off a corner that went in on the near post.

Clear-cut chances were few and far between until Singapore upped the ante in the closing stages and got the winner.

The corner was swung in from the right with an unmarked Nurzahirah having time and space to pick her spot and find the back of the net despite a defender having been posted on that corner of the goal.

Pakistan had only landed in Singapore on Monday following a delay in the issuance of the No-Objection Certificate allowing the team to travel for the match.
