OKARA: A boy was electrocuted while trying to free kite string entangled in live electricity wires hanging low on the rooftop of his house at 54/2L village.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, 11-year-old Idrees was flying kite on the rooftop of his house at the village when the string got entangled in the electricity wires hanging low. The boy, in a bid to free the string, touched the live wires, suffering a massive electric shock and died on the spot.

COUPLE DIES: A man and his wife died when a tractor-trolley hit the bike they were riding near Dalawar Kot on Dipalpur-Pakpattan Road.

As per Rescue 1122 officials, Afzal, along with wife Mumtaz Bibi, was on a motorcycle when a tractor-trolley driven by an unidentified man hit the bike. As a result, both suffered critcal injuries and died on the spot.

On being informed of the accident, a Rescue 1122 team rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to the Dipalpur Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.
