Easy win for Wajid, Qamar

LAHORE, Jan 29: The men’s doubles in the 49th National badminton championship entered the quarterfinals stage at Iqbal Park Sports Complex on Sunday.

The mixed doubles also reached the semifinals phase.

In the first match, Wajid Ali and Ahsan Qamar ousted Imran Mohib and Aamir Islam 15-8, 15-9. Ijaz and Faisal Afzal also registered an easy win over Kashif-Harrison 15-10, 15-3.

Mohammad Naveed and Shahid were stretched to three games before toppling Kashif-Danish 15-12, 6-15, 15-13.

Ali Yar Beg and Rizwan Rana also faced tough resistance from Asad and Tariq before inflicting 14-17, 15-12, 15-1 defeat.
