MIRPURKHAS, Jan 29: Various NGOs took out a procession on Sunday in protest against an attack on the Harbo Patel village near Tando Ghulam Ali in the Badin district and torching of houses by a landlord and his henchmen.

HRCP core group, Lower Sindh Rural Development Association and Rotary club organized the procession.

The protesters were led by Kanji Mal, Rano Bheel, Ashraf J. W. Mall and Rao Ayub.

The procession was started from the railway station chowk and after marching through various roads reached the market chowk.

The participants were carrying banners and placards.

The protest leaders said that even after ten days of the incident the affected villagers were living under open sky.

They said the villagers’ costly goods, including cash, gold ornaments, cattle and articles, were completely burnt.

Kanji Mal of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan’s core group alleged that police tried to distort facts of the incident and no one from the government reached to meet with the victims.
