PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Peoples Party has accused Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf of misusing official funds of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for its political activities and victimisation of political rivals during its tenure and demanded recovery of the public wealth from the former rulers.

PPP provincial acting president Mohammad Ali Shah Bacha in a statement issued here on Sunday said that PTI leadership did not deserve any kind of mercy as its provincial government during the nine-year tenure had misused the funds meant for uplift of the province which should be recovered from the relevant people.

He said PTI was not a political party because it always came into powers through backdoor channels. “PTI is trying to get powers through selection but it would not be possible again. The PTI used different tactics to save its government in centre but it was removed through a no-confidence move and thus its leadership lost memory to devise any future plan for survival of the party,” the PPP leader said.

Mr Bacha claimed that PTI was a story of the past which had no chance to get into power in the future, saying that Imran Khan believed in baseless propaganda, conspiracies and mudslinging but he would not succeed in achieving his goal through such tactics again. He said the PTI never fulfilled its election manifesto, particularly regarding the 10 million jobs and creation of five million homes for the homeless people in the country.

The PTI, he said, always deceived the people through propaganda on social media and did nothing for public welfare during its ten-year term in government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Had the PTI any moral value, it should have answered questions about different financial scams including Malam Jabba land allotment scheme, Billion Tree Tsunami and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) etc.
