GUJRANWALA, Jan 28: The anti-terrorism court No 1 handed down life term and ordered forfeiture of the property of convicts Riaz and Maqsood in a kidnap for ransom case here on Saturday. The court acquitted their co-accused Sajjad, Pervaiz and Idris after giving them the benefit of the doubt.

According to the prosecution, the convicts kidnapped Saifullah, Zulfiqar and Abdul Hamid from Badiana, Sialkot, on Dec 20, 2004, and released them after receiving Rs1.5 million ransom.

HELD: The Anti-Corruption Establishment caught red-handed a cooperative society inspector while taking bribe here on Saturday.

Reports said that accused Tauqir Ahmad received Rs1,500 in bribe from one Riaz for releasing his loan. But he reported the matter to the ACE who after a raid arrested the accused.
